St. Kitts Looks Promising. Cases of Covid are low and stable. Airlines are ready. Hotels are planning for reopening
St Kitts announced they plan to fully reopen October 1, 2020. This is good news for our trip.
There will be some restrictions because of the coronavirus:
- You will need to upload a negative test result to 72 hours prior to arrival.
- Currently, masks are required in all pubic areas.
The signs are good as far as reopening as planned. Marriott has sent a new GM to oversee their hotel reopening by Oct. Hilton and Hyatt are committed to reopening in October also. Airlines have expressed interest in restarting flights as soon as possible.
The government of ST Kitts is offering free training to 5,000 members of the tourism industry. Once they have completed the training, they will receive a “St. Kitts And Nevis Travel Approved Seal.” Only those that have received this seal will be allowed to reopen. The training is free to ensure all affected parties can afford to participate. This should help with the reopening and reassure travelers to St. Kitts & Nevis.
