Florida Trip February 2021

Dive Florida with us February 13 & 14

Take a Break In Florida – February 13 & 14

We’re doing a no frills trip to Florida over President’s Day weekend.

We’ll start with Rainbow River in Dunnellon, Florida for a nice relaxing drift dive.  Depths vary from 6 to 25 feet with lots of fish, turtles, an occasional otter, Pelicans, Anhingas  Herons,, White Ibis… you get the idea.  Waters are very clear and 72 degrees year 'round.  One side of the river is developed but the other is all natural. We will depart from KP Hole Park for our dives.  There are outdoor showers, changing rooms, bathrooms, picnic tables and a very nice dock and entrance area at the park.  On-site parking is included in the entrance fee.

We ride up stream to a drop off point and float back to the entrance park.  During the drift back we usually get two dives in on one tank.  Remember, it is gentle drift diving, very little swimming needed.  This is a great place for Open Water Training Dives along with just enjoying the dive site.  After the drift dive we’ll have a bit of lunch.  Then you are free for the day.  For those interested, we are going to take a side trip to Crystal River to see if the Manatees are in.

Sunday we will be diving Ginnie Springs near High Springs, Florida.  Ginnie is famous for clear waters, multiple dive spots, and great facilities.  Sometimes you can't see the water it is so clear.  Depths in the main areas vary up to about 25 feet with additional dive sites going to 50 feet.  We will dive at least two different areas of the springs.  More if you want.  We’ll have a cook out lunch during the day between dives.
