Standards For Scuba Tanks
- All Fills
- No apparent damage that might affect suitablity
- Current Hydrostatic test
- Facility information and date of test must legible.
- Current Visual Inspection
- Must have facility name and contact information OR
- Be on a preprinted inspection sticker including the approving training agency and inspectors’ number and must be verifiable
- “Generic” stickers with no name and “to industry standards” not acceptable.
- Fill to rated pressure with allowance for cooling after filling.
- Nitrox Fills
- As above PLUS
- Visual Inspection sticker indication suitable for Nitrox.
- Tank markings indicating that a gas other than air is contained
- Preferred to be a Nitrox Sticker
- Minimum size 2” X 4”
- Markings must follow D.O.T., OSHA, and NIOSH requirements
- Pre 1990 Tanks
- Must have VE indication on latest Hydro
- Visual Eddy and Visual Plus are approved
- Catalina tanks may be exempt with approval
- We reserve the right to refuse any fill.
