Join us to dive with the Whale Sharks at the Georgia Aquarium!

The Georgia Aquarium’s Journey with Gentle Giants is the only opportunity in the world where you’re guaranteed to dive with whale sharks, manta rays and thousands of other sea creatures. Suit up to SCUBA dive in the lively waters of the Ocean Voyager exhibit, and have the experience of a lifetime.

 Your chance to dive with the whale sharks comes in the 6.3 million gallon Ocean Voyager exhibit.  The depths range from 20 to 33 feet, with a water temperature of approximately 76 degrees. This exhibit houses thousands of fish, including whale sharks, zebra sharks, sawfish, leopard whiprays, bowmouth guitarfish, humphead wrasses, pompano, and several species of rays. That’s to name a few

For your dive, all equipment is provided except your swimsuit.    You can only bring your own mask and dive computer.  No underwater cameras are allowed on the dives.

After arrival and check-in, there will be an orientation to the aquarium, whale sharks, and the dive. We’ll suit up and become part of the exhibit as we dive into the aquarium.  Be sure to wave at the people on the outside as they see you as part of the exhibit.

If you have friends and family who want to come but not dive, they are welcome to watch you during our dive. They must purchase a General Admission ticket through us. Aquarium staff will take them through an awesome backstage tour, returning in time to see their favorite divers.  Non-divers can view the event from the tunnel and the main theater window. Children must be chaperoned by an adult.

Georgia Aquarium is the only environment in the world to offer these distinctive specialty whale shark dives. Guests have a guaranteed opportunity to dive with manta rays, whale sharks, and thousands of magnificent animals in the Ocean Voyager exhibit, built by The Home Depot. Any certified diver from a recognized dive organization is qualified to participate.
